Jo-Ann H. Bird, Ph.D., LMHC, NCCLic. #MH 6090, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Certified Juvenile Sexual Offender Therapist, and a Board Certified Clinical Sexologist practicing in the Tampa Bay area. Dr. Bird received her Doctorate from The American Academy of Clinical Sexologists at Maimonides University, Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from University of South Florida. Dr. Bird is also a Diplomat and Supervisor of the American Board of Sexology and a Qualified Supervisor with the State of Florida. She is a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). She has an outstanding ability to create a safe environment allowing people to openly discuss intimate issues. As a Sex Therapist and Relationship Coach, she assists individuals and couples of any sexual orientation, gender, or age that have questions/concerns regarding communication, intimacy, sexual function, sexuality, and sexual expression. In addition, Dr. Bird helps individuals who are struggling with depression, anxiety or other life/relationship issues. She also provides individual, family, and group therapy for adolescents with sexual behavior problems and is a clinical member of the Association for Treatment of Sexual Abusers. She has an outstanding ability to create a safe environment allowing people to openly discuss intimate issues. Dr. Bird tailors services to the specific needs of the client(s) using such methods as cognitive behavioral therapy, brief solution focused therapy or an eclectic approach. Additionally, she provides psychoeducational presentations to local organizations and groups. Her presentation style is both fun and educational. |
